How to Prepare for a Time Out Day
Time Out Day | 9:30am – 2:30pm
The Time Out Day is designed for reflection, contemplation and prayer. It gives you the opportunity to listen deeply to the voice of God and to yourself.
Give yourself time to settle down from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and enjoy some quiet.
Try to free your mind so that you are open to hearing the voice of God.
Do not worry about making something ‘spiritual’ happen when you come for the retreat, but keep your heart and mind open toward God in attentive expectation and love.
Before coming for the retreat, ask the Holy Spirit to help you choose what you need to reflect on during the Retreat and ask Him to speak to you.
Trust that God will communicate with you in this time.
How to Prepare for a 24 Hr Quietude Retreat
24-Hour Quietude Retreat | Friday 7pm – Saturday 7pm
Mark 6:31- "Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest."
The 24-Hour Quietude Retreat is to get time to rest, pray, reflect and contemplate as God guides you. It is an opportunity to take a short break from your everyday life in a quiet and tranquil space.
How to Prepare for a Retreat
A retreat is a time set apart for reflection, spiritual growth and refreshment. Here are some tips of what you can do.
Do not worry about what you will reflect on in these 24 hours, but before the retreat, ask the Holy Spirit to help you choose what you need to reflect on during the Retreat and ask Him to speak to you.
Take the time in the Retreat to walk outside embracing the nature, walk the labyrinth or sit in the quiet and reflect. Listen and be open to what God is saying to you during this time.
Be open to reflection and contemplation as God leads you, giving yourself the time to settle down from the busyness of everyday life with your heart turned to listen deeply to God and to yourself.
May this be a time of blessing for you.
The fruit of a retreat is a clearer vision of one's vocation in life and a brighter willingness to follow it faithfully.
You can start by resting.
In our busy lives we suffer from the shackles of tiredness, so first take time to rest.
Only when rejuvenated is our ability to listen to God at its best.
Next, listen to God.
Do this by being still.
Although he is always speaking to us, we can hear his voice better in the silence and tranquil.
Converse with the Lord.
What better than having a dialogue with the Most High,
Whose few words are so much more precious than the thousands we speak everyday and come by.
Reflect.
Reflect on your life or spiritual journey.
Bask in gratefulness for your past, or the grace of recognising what to improve on going ahead.
Reflect from where to where God has brought you and the life that you have led.
Do some meditation.
On the mysteries of the most Holy Rosary or meditate on God’s Word.
Every time we read the Bible we interpret it differently.
Within us, let the Holy Spirit, our interpreter be stirred.
Spend some time contemplating.
No words, no talk, in the presence of God, just quietly be.
All you have to do is be with Him, just be yourself, just be free.
