COVID-19

All guests and employees of St Francis are required to wear a mask in all common areas at all times in the Orange setting.

St Francis Retreat Centre | COVID-19 Protocols

Our COVID-19 Protocols sets out the responsibilities and expectations we have for group organisers, group participants, guests, and St Francis (employees and facilities). We aim to enable our guests to enjoy our facilities and service as we live with COVID-19 in our community. It is important that all our guests feel safe and enjoy their time here, so we are very grateful for the cooperation of all our group organisers, guests, and employees.

  • All employees are fully vaccinated and their My Vaccine Passes are kept on file
  • All employees will wear a mask indoors in all areas accessible to guests i.e., meeting rooms, dining room, hallways etc. (Staff Only areas excepted)
  • Hands are washed thoroughly and frequently.
  • Anyone with cold or flu-like symptoms is told to stay home and seek testing.
  • Hand sanitisers are readily available in all common areas of the retreat centre
  • If there is more than one group in house - we will endeavour to separate the group meeting rooms, mealtimes and dining areas (guest cooperation is greatly appreciated)
Group Organisers

Organising a group in the COVID-19 Protection Framework requires some additional precautions to keep your participants safe and to comply with government requirements.

Before your group meets

    • Everyone coming on a retreat should be directed to read the St Francis Covid-19 Protocols available on our website COVID-19 Update
    • When hosting your group at the retreat centre please ensure
      • That your group participants adhere to the St Francis Covid-19 Protocols
      • That you have your own COVID-19 group guidelines which specifies social distancing, meeting requirements specific to your group
  • Please confirm the following, 7 days prior to coming to St Francis:
    • Has anyone in your group had symptoms of COVID-19 in the last 10 days?
    • These symptoms include fever, chills, new or worsening cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, and new muscle aches or headache.
    • Has anyone come into contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case, or waiting for confirmation, within the last 14 days?

Please ensure that if anyone from your group answers YES to any of the questions above, they do not attend.

All Guests
  • If you have had symptoms of COVID-19 in the 10 days leading up to coming to St Francis or have come into contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case, or waiting for confirmation please let us or your group organiser know. For the safety of our other guests please stay home and follow the guidance of the Ministry of Health
  • Sanitise your hands when entering the premises. Hand sanitisers are readily available at the entrance and in all common areas of the retreat centre
  • All guests of St Francis Retreat Centre must wear a mask when in common indoor areas (dining room, hallways, shared bathrooms, common areas etc)
  • Maintain social distancing with guests that are not from your group
  • Practice good hygiene (e.g., frequent hand washing, coughing, and sneezing into your elbow, and avoid touching your face)
  • Meals are served buffet-style in the dining room designated for your group. All guests and staff are required to wear masks in and around buffet and food service stations. Please dine with your group only, or socially distanced from other retreatants, or as directed by your group organiser
  • Please wash your hands prior to using the self-serve kitchenette and please place your used cutlery and dishes in the dishwasher or on the designated trolley
  • Do not enter another guest’s room
  • Do not share food, drinks, or other personal items
